A Jerusalem Tree, 2021
Shahar Sivan, painter and sculptor
A section of forest, inspired by the symbolic tree and colors of KKL-JNF, and in parallel to the four essential elements of nature: earth, air, water, and growth. The forest is constructed from graphic shapes that resemble branches and man-made structures simultaneously. The sense of depth is created via the relationship between the material character of the work, its three-dimensional nature, the way in which “windows” are carved between the branches , and the shadows cast on the stone wall that become part of the work.
This artwork was presented as part of KKL-JNF's exhibition 'The Art of Achievement: Keren
